Evaluation of my magazine front cover.
I named my magazine ‘Trash’ as I was aiming it at a specific youth audience with a stereotype of scene, indie or bogger; I feel the title would encourage those people to purchase it as it is very straight forward and you can guess the kind of content it will contain.
The interview with Joan Jett section would catch the eyes of these stereotypes as you’d expect them to be interested in her type of music and the band The Runaways, the headline ‘Exclusive!’ encourages people as it sounds as if they can’t get this news anywhere else and the exploitive at the end of the word would catch the eyes of possible purchasers. Also I have included a quote ‘I can’t take the public demand!’ in order to give readers a quick insight into the story and convince them further that they want to buy my magazine.
My ‘ALSO’ section aims to further convince readers to purchase as it quickly informs them of the very best things featured within this might include one of their favorite bands or artists. In addition I have used alliteration with ‘Bellamy baffles bemused fans’ this sounds nice to read and also includes a catchy pun that Muse fans would get ‘Bemused’ the band name being ‘Muse’.
Lastly there is also a ‘5 free posters’ advertisement included this may cause readers to believe they are buying well worth their money as they are getting free things that they’d have to pay for had they gone to a shop to buy the posters.
